This bar was recommended to me by a friend who said “If you want to mix with creative people in Manchester, uk this is the place to go.
Angel: To people who haven’t heard of a place called common how would you describe it?
Jonny Heyes: A nice bar for normal people
A: What sort of people tend to hang out there?
JH: Nice People, hopefully. People who like their music, art and drinking combined in a nice relaxed, comfortable enviroment
A: Describe some of your recent events?
JH: Best Foot Forward(every saturday) recent guests A Mountain Of One(Mo Morris and Leo Elstob), a balearic, disco, all round good music type thing, a recording of which will shortly be available on aplacecalledcommon.co.uk
JH: Feel The Noise 1st B’day, the “social fools” AKA Ric and Ben from Contort Yourself, brought up Punks Jump Up(Kitsune) from the big smoke for what turned out to be one our best ever nights, folk dancing on tables and everything. (Feel The Noise - Last Friday of the month)
JH: Licktronica, Michael and Rob have built up an avid following in the electronica fraternity, they recently managed to secure Ulrich Schnaus to play a sunday evening set.
A: Why should people come and check it out?
JH: They should check it out if they’re interested in what we do, good music, exhibitions, good food, good drinks, good service, comfy seats, occasional dancing(not compulsory), Common Knowledge Quiz. If they don’t like any of that stuff then it’s probably best they don’t bother.
