Part One:

Jay Alders paints the most beautiful surreal figures and seascapes. To me it’s like looking into another world where everything is tranquil and serene.

The rebirth of Angels intentions

“The Rebirth of Angels Intentions”

Angel: What is the very first creative thing you can remember as a child?

JA: I have always been drawing. When I was in kindergarden I used to make tattoos that id draw backwards and xfer them on to kids. instead of lemonade stands, I sold drawings. It just is something Ive always done..I dont know how not to draw.

A: Do you remember what you drew?

JA: Yeh,..skulls, snakes…little boy stuff

A: Where did these ideas to draw skulls and snakes come from? were you influenced by tv or comics?

JA: I hardly ever read comics..Id look @ the pics sometimes but never was into comics…I liked GI JOE and those sorta’ cartoons though..I watched a lot of tv then

Self Portrait

“Self Portrait”

A: What fascinated you at high school?

JA: How so many kids could be such complete a*sholes

A: Why were the kids as*holes?

JA: High school just sucked…I just meant kids that age in general are insecure, annoying and superficial..it wasnt a place I fit into well until I was about to
graduate
