Latitudes - New Album “Bleak Epiphany In Slow Motion” (Visual CD Review)
This time its the turn of the talented Matt Gwynne an illustrator based in Wales to give us his visual review of Latitudes new album “Bleak Epiphanies In Slow Motion”.
Latitudes formed in Hitchin in 2007 and have now released their debut mini album “Bleak Epiphanies In Slow Motion” on Shelsmusic and produced by Mark Williams (Biffy Clyro, Devil Sold his Soul, Shels). We gave it to Matt to have a listen and express his thoughts visually and here are the results

“Matt - The songs I chose to illustrate were: Dreamland Precipice, A falling Mute and Bleak Epiphany in Slow Motion.All 3 songs were dark, atmospheric and haunting pieces of music and as a result the images I created were equally as dark and sinister. The main challenge I faced when doing these illustrations was relating to the music without any lyrics to guide the image. I was solely relying on the atmosphere of the music to inspire the images I created. I linked the three pieces by repeating certain themes and colours (eg the wolves) through-out all three images. This also helped mirror the similar atmosphere the three songs had.”
