SaidMike - Sin City, (Gig Review)

SaidMike are a five piece synth-rock band from Pontypridd who have been around for over four years performing up and down the country. We sent our roving Welsh reporter/photographer Ceri along to their gig in Swansea and this is what he had to say.

Ceri Davies - “With their EP ‘Stop The Clocks’ hitting the iTunes store a month ago, and live dates stacked to the horizon it seems now is a good time to check out this band. Hailing from Pontypridd their instantly liven up the crowd gathered. Richard on guitar is throwing himself around to their stop, start opener. The sound is catchy, feet are tapping and heads are rocking. Slamming into an energetic rendition of Mind Over Muscle, complete with Valentines balloon, they are an innovative group with potent vocals belted out from talented front man Tom.

Throughout Dane is pummeling the drums with immense timing and concentration. They seem to slow, speed up and run away in a different dimension, creating this synth laden powerpop sound that powers through the club. These boys are offering up a distinctive sound, no doubt you will hear more from them soon!”
